Independent product lab

Build useful.
Think further.

MRAB AI Labs creates practical AI products for real problems. We explore where intelligence, software and human judgment can work together to make everyday systems clearer, faster and more useful.

Built in Canada. Designed for wherever the problem lives.
What we build

AI that earns its place.

We are interested in the unglamorous, valuable layer where technology stops being a demo and starts doing work. Our products are built around measurable usefulness, understandable decisions and thoughtful human control.

01 / Observe

Find the real friction.

Start with behaviour, workflow and evidence. The product comes after the problem is understood.

02 / Build

Make intelligence practical.

Use AI where it creates leverage, not decoration. Automate the repetitive while preserving judgment where it matters.

03 / Learn

Improve from reality.

Ship, measure, challenge assumptions and iterate. Good systems become sharper through evidence, not mythology.

Current work

Different problems. One lab.

MRAB AI Labs is designed as a home for independent products across multiple industries. The common thread is not the market. It is the way we build.

Personal AI research · Local only
MoSim v1 A private, local-first experiment in building a personal AI “digital twin” that can reason from an individual’s own knowledge, history, preferences and working context.

The goal is not to create a generic assistant that knows a little about everyone. It is to explore what happens when an AI is designed around one person, with explicit boundaries, user-controlled data access and a local model at the centre. MoSim v1 currently lives only on a personal computer and is not publicly accessible.

How we think

Technology should feel less magical after you understand it.

Evidence before confidence.

Useful systems should be able to show where conclusions came from, what they know and what they do not.

Human control is a feature.

Automation is powerful. So is knowing when a person should stay in the loop.

Small products can solve large problems.

We favour focused systems with sharp edges over bloated platforms that promise everything.

Build for reality, not the demo.

Reliability, privacy, maintenance, cost and messy inputs are part of the product, not footnotes.
